What is KaunHoTum?
Three things in one place. One: a real personality journey — 5 layers, 80 questions — that explains you to yourself. Two: the answer arrives as a character, so it actually lands. Three: if you want it, those same answers take you to people you genuinely fit — without anyone having seen a photo. The first two parts are free forever, and complete on their own.
Is this free?
The quiz and your character — completely free, always. Only the club (the dating part) is premium, and even there you don’t buy your way in — you earn it by finishing the journey. Effort is the real velvet rope, not money.
Is this some kind of astrology or horoscope?
No. No caste, no birth chart, no zodiac. This is a personality mirror — built on your answers, not on the stars. It doesn’t hand you a verdict, it gives you a way to see yourself.
Is this just another dating app?
No. It is a personality platform with genuine matching on the far side of it — and plenty of people come only for the quiz and the layers, and never choose to meet anyone. Even in the matching part there is no swiping: no photos, no deck, no likes counter. You finish your journey first; people know you by who you are, not by a picture.
Will my photo and location be visible to everyone?
Photo? Never — not until you both want it. In discovery only your character is shown. Your photo opens only when you both choose the mutual Pehli Jhalak reveal — either of you can start that choice, and pausing it stays in both your hands too. And location? Your exact location is never shown to anyone. You control who can reach you. And nobody just walks in — you reach dating only after completing your full personality journey. Your privacy stays in your hands, from start to finish.
When do photos show up?
Never in discovery — there, only your character is shown. After the answers to 6 questions have unsealed on both sides, the Pehli Jhalak window can open. Before any photo, you both record what you liked about the other person — then the photo appears to both of you at the same moment, nobody first, nobody second. And if it doesn’t click, there’s a kind exit — a goodbye with dignity.
How does the conversation work? What is Gehraai?
After a match you don’t get an empty chat box — you get Gehraai: 66 filmy questions across three stages (light talk → values → matters of the heart). Every question is answer-together: your answer stays sealed until both of you have answered, then both open at once. Nobody is left standing there open-hearted alone — you both show courage equally.
Are there voice notes?
Yes — but only once the conversation shows real investment: voice notes open after 4 mutual reveals. Why? Because a person is more honest in their voice — and that much truth isn’t something we ask of strangers at the start.
What’s different here for women?
Trust first. Membership is invited and free, and you decide who can message you. The men here have all finished the journey — they can’t fake it. No caste filter, no astrology, religion optional. Two more things: the Pehli Jhalak window opens only when you choose — the door to a photo reveal stays in your hands. And Parakh, for women only: green and amber flags for every character, and a 30-second pulse after every conversation that shows you where the relationship is heading. Parakh sharpens your own judgment — the call is always yours.
Where does my data go?
Straight answer: we store your messages, voice notes, reveal answers and quiz results — to run the app, not to sell. Your photo is visible to no one before a reveal, and we never show it in discovery. Analytics runs only after your consent. And under the DPDP Act you have rights: access your data, correct it, erase it, and raise a grievance. The full detail is on the Privacy page.
Is there an age limit?
Yes — 18+, always. This is an adult product, and on that we make no compromises.
How accurate is the result?
The web quiz is a short teaser (5 questions); the full 20-question quiz lives in the app. This isn’t a test that boxes you in — it’s a starting point, a mirror you keep polishing clearer every week.
What is Mumbai First 500?
The founding cohort — the first 500 people in Mumbai to begin this journey. The seats really are 500 and the ratio really is gated; we don’t play the fake "only 3 left" game. Refer friends and you can move up the line.
Is this connected to any film or studio?
No. This is a fan-culture initiative — no affiliation with any studio or artist. Every character is *inspired* by a lifetime of cinema, not copied from any one film; and the films that shaped this work, we bow to on the Films page.
Why is this in Hinglish?
Because depth shouldn’t depend on an English degree. The site comes in three editions — Hinglish, English, and हिंदी — so everyone can understand themselves in their own tongue. Switch the language up top.
